Birth Story

Sadie is crying right now, so here's my story with her in a nutshell! So, this is for my own memory, and in case Sadie is curious as to how she entered the world someday!!! So, I had been dilated to a 3 for about since I was about 37 weeks along, and stayed there. I have never dilated at all before I was in actual labor with my boys, so I thought I would go into labor any day and have her. I ended up at my 39 week check up and my doctor said he couldn't induce me until friday morning. There was NO way I was going to wait until Friday to have her, so I asked my doctor what I could do. He had already stripped my membranes twice! He told me that if I got my contractions going and went to the hospital he would make sure I delivered. So I took black and blue cohosh, and walked aroud the mall to stimulate contractions then literally speed-walked into the hospital. Of course they stopped and I almost went home, but my doctor was amazing and told the nurses to admit me because I had fast labors..... which was a total lie! So they admitted me, started me on the IV and penicillin, because I was Group B Strep positive, and around 12:30 the doctor broke my water. Then I went walking, and at 1:30am I got the epidurral and started pitocin. Then at 4 I started pushing, and in 2 easy pushes, she was out.... no episiotomy, no major pushing, she almost came out on her own! It was such a great experience. The after labor was painful, more so than the actual labor. But she cried immediately and latched on right away, and was just a beautiful little girl! She's almost 2 months old now and weighs 10lbs 2 oz, she's just the cutest little thing ever! She smiles here and there, and is very alert and looks around all the time. I can't get enough of her!

Say Cheese!

My sister Tracy was in town a few weeks ago with her kids, and of course I had to snap some pictures! Logan had so much fun playing with Dusty (7) and Anna (5). He kept asking to play with his cousins! It was so cute!

I also got to take some pictures of my newest nephew, Hudson Lee Grover. He's such a little cutie and slept the whole time! I did the pics in my garage and it was so hot, so they could have been better, but I tried!

Sadie

On June 9th at 4:20am Sadie Lynne Davis was born! 8 lbs 20.5 inches! She's so sweet and beautiful and we love her so much. We're doing good.... She is jaundiced right now, but her count went down today and she still has the billy blanket tonight so it should continue to go down. She's already looking less yellow and she's more alert. She's seriously a little piece of Heaven, and we love her so much! I'll post more about everything when I get a little more rest!

Logan's 4th Birthday!

On May 31st Logan turned 4 years old! I can't believe that just 4 years ago I became a mother for the first time to this handsome little boy! He's now 4 years old, and so full of life. He knows his ABC's and can count almost to 20! He can recognize most of his letters, and is starting to write some of them. He LOVES his brother and new sister, and is such a good helper. He definitely keeps me on my toes, and is constantly asking me questions. He is so smart, and curious. But such a good kid. For his birthday, we just did a little family party with a little baby pool out back. I was too tired and huge to do anything else. But he had fun, and we are so thankful for our little boy!

Triathlon!

We made it here! Beautiful Day! Tribal Triathlon 5-29-2010

Unloading the bikes

Getting ready to swim! They had to swim first, 1/2 mile.

Lake Pleasant

Brian finished the swim! Now onto the bikes.

And here's Troy coming out of the Lake.

Taking off on the bike. They had to ride 14 miles on the bike!

Brian coming close to the finish line!

Almost there.

And he made it! After a 1/2 mile swim, a 14 mile bike ride, and a 3 mile sprint, Brian crosses the finish line! I am so proud of Brian for setting his mind to something and accomplishing his goal. He did a GREAT job! Go Brian!

Don't forget about Troy! Here he comes running in!

And Troy crosses the finish line too! I am so proud of Troy too! Brian said he couldn't have done it without Troy. They pushed each other and helped each other grow and stretch themselves to do something amazing! And they did it! Go Troy and Brian!

Oh ya, thanks to my Dad, who went along with them and took the pictures! I couldn't make it for a bunch of different reasons, but I'm thankful that Brian had Troy and my dad there for support and company!

Sneak Peek for Shannon

I attempted to do a photoshoot of my beautiful newest Niece, Lilly today. It was very hot, for my 9 month pregnant self, and for some reason I just didn't do a very good job at taking the pictures. And trust me, it's not because of the subject..... She's BEAUTIFUL! And So dainty and girly. Some are still cute, but they're not as good as I wanted them to be. Sorry Shannon, but she's still beautiful anyway! Maybe we can try again in a few months when I'm not a giant prego woman! :)
