Things are starting to turn up!!!!

So for all of you out there who were concerned about us, because of Brian being out of a job, worry no more! He was offered a corporate position with Petsmart on Tuesday of this week, and it was exactly what he was hoping for! He will be on a team with 3 other people who will be responsible for all of the marketing and advertising decisions for Petsmart nationwide! It's an awesome opportunity and he's super excited! And to make things even better, because it's a corporate position his health benefits will start for the whole family on October 1st!!! YEAHHHHH!!!!!!!! So we totally lucked out, and we're sooooo happy and thankful that we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers, and we love all of you! Oh to make things even better, I'm FINALLY getting over my sinus infection, which has seriously been kicking my butt for like a month now, and Logan is also getting over his staph infected bug bite and swollen eye from his sinus infection too! (Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that???) His eye was almost swollen shut for a few days because he had a sinus infection that got into the tissues around his eye! How random is that! And also to get a staph infection from a bug bite???? Just leave it to the Davis family to come up with the most random health issues ever! Anyway, thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts! We're so much better!

We made a Pie

A few weeks ago I was craving apples, and got so many that I decided to make an Apple Pie! I had an easy recipe, and of course Brian had to get involved!!! (Which I absolutely love!) And so we made a pretty yummy apple pie! It wasn't that hard, and it actually tasted pretty dang good, for my first pie ever! I was proud!

Only Three Weeks Left!!!

Here’s my latest belly picture, although there are some pics from Vegas when I was 34 Weeks. I am now 37 Weeks, and yes, I’m counting. It’s kind of funny though, because I’m not nearly as antsy to have this baby as I was with Logan. I am doing a lot of sewing right now, so that’s keeping me busy plus I’m running around after a 2 year old! I’m feeling as well as can be expected right now, and I’m swelling so much it’s hilarious! I gained 8 pounds last week!!! Yeah, all in my ankles and hands, and I lost 2 pounds the week before that because I had an earlier appointment…hence less swelling. So it’s pretty funny now, and it sucks but I’m super healthy so that’s all that really matters.
I have an ultrasound on Tuesday to measure the baby, because I feel like he’s super big already and we don’t want this baby to break his collar bone like Logan did just from being borne. So if the baby’s big already they might induce me but I’m not getting my hopes up for anything. With my luck I’ll go in for my ultrasound and they’ll say that the baby is tiny, or move my due date back AGAIN!!!  Hopefully not! So anyway, I’m doing good, and just getting bigger and bigger!

Vegas Vacation!!!!!

Over Labor Day weekend Brian's parents so generously got us a hotel room at the New York New York! So of course we went to Vegas for the weekend! We left Logan with Brian's sister Shannon and hubby Matt (Thanks soooooo much!) and took off! We had a blast! The first night we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Lawry's Prime Rib, and it was so good! Brian got a huge cut of prime rib I think like 18oz and he ate the whole thing!!! Then we walked around the strip for just a little while, because I was so uncomfortable! We stopped and watched a few shows at the Bellagio (Which I'm such a dork but the fountains are my favorite part of Las Vegas!) and then we walked through the actual hotel.

It is so pretty inside and there's all kinds of cool displays. We got some fun pics! The next day we walked around the strip a little more, and Brian wanted to walk to the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel.
Well, we walked all the way there, only to decide that I was way too uncomfortable to wait for the elevator ride up to the top so we turned around and walked back. I swear that was more walking I've done in a long time.....especially being 34 weeks pregnant! Ya, I was in a ton of pain but we still had a really good time. We stopped to take a break from our endless walk down the strip one night and there was a professional sized firework that went off right across the street from us! It was super scary and almost knocked me into the fountain that I was sitting in front of! I think people got hurt too!

Oh, and the wind was insane, and blew over some of those big walls that they put up to gate the construction, and it knocked some lady down when it fell over! But luckily we weren't there when that happened! We saw the new bridge being built over the Hoover Dam which was really cool, but it's not done yet. And I think that's pretty much it! We had such a good time just getting away without Logan, although we missed him a TON! Thank you so much Mom and Dad Davis, and Shannon and Matt for making this trip possible!!! We love you guys!

I'm so thankful for my testimony!

This last week has made me so thankful for my testimony and has humbled me in so many ways. Brian just lost his job on Friday very unexpectedly, and I am just so thankful to know that even though it sucks right now, we will pull through this difficult time and be better and stronger when we're through this trial. I don't understand why we get some trials in life, but I truly know that if it weren't for my faith and knowledge of the gospel this trial would be so much harder to face and deal with. I am not sharing this with all of you to be worried or feel sorry for us, but to know that someone else is going through a difficult time too, and it's just so important that we rely on our testimonies and the Lord when we need him most. Rather than getting upset and thinking why is this happening to me, I have to try to think about the blessings and doors that will open because of this. Brian is very well qualified and has education that will get him a good job soon. I know we will be taken care of. And I am also working in the meantime and I'm totally still fine to work up until I'm due. So we will truly be fine through this. I just wanted to share with you that we are so blessed to have the knowledge of the gospel and the comfort of prayer. And I am also so thankful for all of my wonderful supportive friends who have always been there for me! You gals are awesome!

Moms shouldn't be allowed to get sick!

Okay, so I know I'm kind of a drama queen, but this is not dramatized at all! I seriously have been sick for like a week now! I have felt like crap almost every day. It started with me just feeling tired on Wednesday last week. I was just really uncomfortable because of the baby and all that stuff, but then on Friday I swear I started having like allergies. Or so I thought! It just got worse and by Sunday night I was miserable! I seriously slept almost all day on Sunday, and I still don't feel good. I woke up this morning with a super sore throat, and I even practically choked on my uvula (that hangy thing in the middle/back of your throat) when I tried to swallow some water. I finally decided that it's probably not just allergies or a cold, and it turns out I have a horrible sinus infection. It's HORRIBLE! I mean is it not enough that I'm already so uncomfortable and still a month away from m=having my baby, and that I still have to take care of my son and do all the things that moms have to do????? I guess not, because I have been so sick! But the good news is that I have some antibiotics that should take care of this, so I'm sure I'll be back to good in a few days. I swear though, it just shouldn't be allowed for moms to get sick!
