A few weeks ago I took my van in to get it fixed. It was making a noise under the hood, and it's 11 years old, and has almost 200,000 miles. Unfortunately, the mechanic said it's internal engine failure, and it will cost about $2,000 to fix it! We decided that it wasn't worth that much, to invest into it, so instead we're just waiting until it really dies, and saving money to buy a new car until then.
Well, that plan just went down the drain this morning.... Brian called me and said he got in a car accident! He was stopped on the freeway and someone rear-ended him and he got smashed between a pathfinder and an accord. LUCKILY, he is perfectly fine. He didn't get hurt at all. The car on the other hand, is totaled. We haven't heard from the insurance company yet, but I'm pretty sure it's just going to be totaled out, so it looks like Brian will get a new car first!
It's interesting, because when things like this happen, I feel blessed that I have this weird faith that everything will be okay. (Most of you know that I'm not the type of person to just be okay with big things like this. I freak out over a stressful day with the boys, so.....) I think since Brian got meningitis a few years ago, I was blessed with the ability to have faith through trials like this. There was nothing I could do for him except pray, and have faith in the Lord that he would take care of him. Logan was really sick at the same time that Brian was in the hospital with a double ear infection, and once again, I just had to pray for help. So because of that experience I have realized the power of faith, and I love and appreciate that I get that reassuring feeling that everything is going to be okay. I know for most of you this does not sound like a big deal, or "trial" at all, but it's always a trial for me when I have to re-do our finances and make a new car fit in our budget. Plus, in probably 6 months, we're going to need to replace the van. But I am not worried or concerned at all, because I really have faith that someway, somehow, this was all part of the plan. I might not understand why right now, but I know that eventually I will get it, and until then, there's no point in focusing on the bad or difficult things about this. The most important things are that Brian is FINE!!!!! He didn't get hurt, and no one else in the other cars got hurt! The second thing is, okay well, I can't think of the second thing. LOL!!!
But really, I know that everything will be okay. Just wanted to share...

Update

This past week has been pretty uneventful..... We went to Brian's work party and Logan got to pet some animals. I took the boys to the mall while I waited for new tires to be put on Brian's car and Jaxon started pulling himself up on the toys in the play area. He even took a few steps towards them! Since then he's been standing up at home, all the time. A few weeks ago we saw Disney on Ice! It was so much fun! Logan LOVED it, and he still talks about it! We are going to Disneyland in May and I'm really excited1 I think Logan is going to have a blast! I went to the movies by myself on Saturday night, and I saw Obsessed, and loved it! I haven't been to the movies on a Saturday night in so long, that I forgot what it's like! There were so many kids there but it was fun! Travis and Emily came over and we had a game night. It was really fun.... the kids were actually good! I have been getting ready for my dance concert..... yes, I'm actually doing the recital. I know, it's kinda lame, but I LOVE my dance class, and right now it's recital season, so I guess that's what I get! It should be interesting! My parents and me and the boys went to the zoo while Brian was at his GMAT class. Logan didn't want to leave the petting zoo! Brian takes his test next Saturday so wish him luck! And then we're off to San Diego! Yay!

Matching Jammies!

I went to AZ Mills last week and bought the boys matching Osh Kosh PJ's! I think they're so cute, and event hough they look kinda silly, these are the best jammies! They are so soft and stretchy! I LOVE them! And I couldn't resist taking some pics of the boys in their "silly pants" as Brian calls them..... he HATES these jammies! HAHAHA!

Brian looking OH So Happy, coloring eggs!
Saturday night we colored eggs. Logan had a ton of fun with it this year, he actually got it! Jaxon just sat in his chair and squeaked the whole time. The boys had matching outfits for church, and were sooo stinkin cute! And of course Brian looked handsome! The Easter bunny came this morning and hid some eggs for Logan to find and he found them all! He had so much fun!
On a more serious note, I am so thankful for Easter Sunday. It is such a great time to be reminded of our Savior's sacrifice for us. I have a testimony that Christ lives and that he was resurrected after he died on the cross. I know that he atoned for my sins and through him I can be saved and return to live with him again. I am so thankful for the Lord, my redeemer, Jesus Christ. Happy Easter!

Jaxon is 6 months!
Jaxon turned 6 months on the 7th this month, and he literally started crawling that day! He's getting faster and faster every day and he's all over the place now! He almost has one tooth and he's started eating solids! He's a very happy boy as long as he's getting attention! He LOVES playing with Logan! Those two are best buds! We LOVE you Jaxon!

Zoo Fun
Last week my sister and niece Abby were here visiting from Virginia. We all went to the zoo and I bought an annual pass because I figured it would be nice to be able to go several times throughout the year. We had tons of fun and went to the zoo again on Saturday! Logan was afraid, NOT of the REAL animals, but the fake statues, hence the funny expression in the pictures! He Loved the elups (Elephants) and the orangutans and monkeys.
Car Seat Cover
I FINALLY got around to sewing up Jaxon's car seat cover. I made a pattern from the actual cover that's on the carseat, and I figured it out all on my own. I think it turned out pretty cute! It has velcro in the middle of it so you can just put it on without having to take the buckles off. It's really nice! Here it is!!! I also made on e for Logan a while ago, but never got around to taking a picture of that. It's similar!
I'm going to work!
Yesterday Logan was wearing just his underwear around the house. He was playing and got his toolbox and hammer and came up to me and said, "I goin to wook (work) mommy." I asked him, "Okay, don't you think you should put some clothes on first?" He says, " No just underwear." :) What more can I say???
Herpangina
Logan started running a fever yesterday of 102!!! Of course, paranoid me, I NEVER wait a full 24 hours and "watch" the fever before I rush him in to the doctor. He ate a bunch of pistachios the day before he started running a fever. He was also complaining of a tummy ache. I'm freaking out thinking it's salmonella because of the pistachio salmonella outbreak! So I almost take him to the ER but the on call nurse says to wait it out. I'm still freaking out because his fever kept getting higher and higher. We went to see the doctor this morning and he has a virus called Herpangina. I called Brian to tell him what he had, and Brian says, "How can he have that, he's a boy???" Ya, I explained to him that it wasn't a body part but a virus that produces little blisters in your throat and makes you have a high fever for a week or so. The good new is that he's going to be fine and he doesn't have Salmonella from the nuts. The bad news is that he will have a fever and sore throat for about a week. Although, I don't think it's such a bad thing..... he just lays on the couch and keeps asking to take a little nap! So maybe that's why kids get sick--to give mom a break from the hyperness!!! I really do feel bad for the little guy though!
