Home Alone

Brian took Logan to San Diego this weekend, just the two of them. So here I am, thinking of all the things I could be doing, because I basically just have one kid this weekend, and what am I doing? Blogging. Eating. Watching TV. Cleaning house. Pretty much everything I do on a daily basis with both boys. Only today, I'm mopey because my husband and 2 year old are not here! What is wrong with me!!!!! I feel like my other half is gone! :( But, it was so cute and sweet of Brian to take Logan with him for the weekend. And they are both sooooo excited! They are going to the zoo, and the beach and I'm sure they will have so much fun. I miss them already though, but I'm sure I'll have fun too!

What the!!!

Logan just gets funnier and funnier every day! The other day we were watching the Jungle Book and at the end, a music video of the Jonus Brothers singing I wanna Be Like Youhohooo came on and Logan goes, "What da HECK!!!" Mommy, look, what da heck!!!" The other morning we were sitting on our bed with the boys, playing before we were ready to get out of bed for the day, and Logan stands up backed up to the wall and says, "Hey, I so funny! I so funny!" Another thing he did recently was copy Daddy when Brian told me that Logan just did a "Big ass terd" in the toilet. So Logan comes up to me and says, "Mommy look, a big ass tuwd!, big ass tuwd!" Needless to say, we need to watch what we say around that kid! He's a smart one! Jaxon's news, is that he is tongue tied! I was tongue tied as a baby and I had it clipped as an infant. Jaxon is a little too old to have it just snipped in the doctors office so I have to take him to an ENT and he might get it clipped. The doctor wasn't majorly concerned about it, but I think I am more concerned, because it could make him have a lisp when he gets older. Plus it was starting to rip the other night, that's when I noticed it because it was bleeding. Wierd huh! But other than that, he's super happy and smiley and just a joy! He's doing much better, although he still wakes up a lot, but I don't really care anymore. I still sleep, and I'm getting good at ignoring him and sleeping through his crying at night. I haven't heard him lately, so either I am really sleeping through it, or he's not crying anymore..... :) The video is of Logan singing "Life is a Highway, all night long" (from Cars, that's how he sings it, life is a highway, all night long!) He's cute. Sorry it's so grainy, it's from the camera on my phone!

The Cutest Boys!

So I just have to say, I have the cutest husband and sons! Every night before we get the boys ready for bed, Brian and Logan clean up the toys and play music and sing and dance. It is so cute. Logan's favorite songs right now, are Life is a Highway, by Rascall Flatts from Cars, and Beyond the Sea, from Finding Nemo. But sometimes we put some "cool" songs on and jam out to ghetto jams. It's so fun to watch them and I just love how cute they are!

Jaxon is 4 months old!

I took Jaxon in for his 4 month check up today, and he's 15 pounds (50th percentile) and 26 inches (85th percentile) and his head is 15 inches (25th percentile). It's funny, because I thought he was so big and chubby but he's really not. He's tall, but not fat at all, considering he's in the 50th % for weight. Logan at this age was 16 or 17 pounds I think! But they both have small heads.....weird huh! He is such a cutie though, and he slept all night last night! Logan of course made up for it by waking me up a few times though! I guess that's just the way it goes. He still doesn't have any teeth, and he's rolling over and moving around on his tummy. It makes me sad to see how fast he's growing. I try to stop him, but it doesn't work. Oh well.

Don't let this kid fool you!

He may look cute, but let me tell you, in the past month, this little monster has broken BOTH DVD players, and my IPOD. And tonight, we realized that he broke the DVD player on the laptop too. Yeah. And today, I had him with me at Jaxon's checkup and he got stuck in the chair at the Doctor's office. I got lectured from the doctor about that one. Some days he's an angel, but most lately especially, he's the exact opposite! .....It's a good thing he's so cute!

A Day at the Park

Yesterday the weather was so beautiful, partially cloudy, mostly sunny, breezy, and in the 70's! It was too perfect to pass up, so we went to Freestone park. We had a picnic there and played and fed the ducks, although the ducks weren't hungry. We had a blast, and of course Jaxon was so smiley and sweet. Logan had fun with Daddy and of course got mad at mommy when she tried to take pictures of him!
Jaxon has been a lot happier lately. We've been doing a better schedule and he's not sick anymore! But Logan was driving me crazy the last few days, and of course, he woke up with an ear infection on Friday. He's totally fine now, but it's so sad when your kids are sick. And then I felt extra bad because I was so frustrated with him and of course I was yelling at him. But since he's had medicine he's been a lot better. He's started wetting the bed again though, like every night and he's not waking up anymore. Any suggestions????? I'm thinking about just waking him up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom until he starts waking up dry again. I'm sure he'll get it again. Logan's best friend is Talmage Pulley. He LOVES him! they play together 3 times a week, and they are inseparable! It's so cute! The other day we were in the car and the Wild Wild West song came on, and me and Brian were singing it. Then Logan starts going "Wide Wide West! See like dat Daddy!" It was too cute. He was also singing "The woof, the woof the woof is on fiow! See like dat!" He always says see like that after he does something. He's such a joy!
I have been taking a Jazz dance class again. It's so much fun! Not to mention a good workout! My momma is taking the class with me! It's a very basic class, which is exactly what I need right now. It's amazing how fast you lose the dance skills and flexibility. But then again it has been 5 years since I've set foot in a studio. It's such a good thing for me though. It is a way for me to destress and exercise and have fun all at the same time. And I'm proud to say that the technique is actually coming back! I did really good kicks across the floor last week, and my coordination is coming back too. The pirouettes and leaps are taking a bit longer, but I think I still need to lose 50 pounds before I can expect that to come back!
Last night Brian and I had a wonderful date night! Emily watched our kids, and we went to PF Changs for dinner. It was so nice to get out without the kids and also to know that they were being taken care of by their favorite auntie! (Thanks Em!) Brian's such a sweetheart, and so cute! We got extra spoiled this weekend and also got to go out with Travis and Emily without kiddos (Thanks to Grandma Grover) for a date night at the ASU institute. We had so much fun and listened to a great talk by a marriage counselor who offered some excellent tips! Oh yeah, and on Saturday night we had fun and played Cranium, the new one, with Trav and Em after we went out to dinner. What a fun weekend! Then tonight, we had our friends, the Petrovays over for dinner! We are seriously so lucky to have such great friends and family!
A quick shout out to my super sweet and great friend Heather who is the photographer of our family pics and the shoot of me and Jaxon. She just had her second baby, a boy, last week, and I can't wait to see them! Oh, and in a few more weeks, I think she'll be back into taking pictures and doing photo shoots again. So give her a call if you need any! She's amazing! CONGRATULATIONS HEATHER!!! Oh yeah, here's her photo blog: plainlytaken.blogspot.com
Well, it's time to get the boys off to bed, and lets face it, I might finish off the double chocolate gooey butter cake!!! Yes, I'm horrible.... no wonder I can't lose weight!

Nothing and a Recipe

So here's my update for the past two weeks. I have been doing absolutely NOTHING!!!!! Yes, hold on to your seats, I know it's so exciting! No really though. I have been doing a lot of sewing lately (Baby blankets, burp rags, car seat covers) and I've been keeping busy with crafts lately too. I have a new nephew and niece both coming in about a month, so I've been busy with their gifts! (Not because the mom's want anything, but more because I get bored and sick of my kids, and crafting is the only way I can tune out my kiddos)Jaxon has been so stinking fussy lately. He cries all the time. He'll cry for 2 days straight and then be really good for a day, then go back to crying again. I seriously let him cry for like 2 hours last night. What am I supposed to do???? I don't want to keep waking up with him and letting him get used to me holding him or rocking him back to sleep, so I just let him cry. But seriously, he doesn't stop after a few minutes. It lasts for hours. But when I get him he's just the happiest, cutest little baby. AAAAHHHH! Oh well, small price to pay for such a beautiful baby I guess. I love him to pieces, I'm just a little frustrated.
Logan on the other hand has been AMAZING!!! He is completely potty trained, even at night! I didn't want to potty train at night yet, but he started waking up in the middle of the night and asking to go pee, so we stopped putting diapers on him at night. He has an accident at night maybe once a week, but considering it's only been about 4 weeks total of potty training, I think he's doing sooooooo good. He still has accidents sometimes during the day too, like when he's busy playing at the park. But Seriously, he's such a big boy and we're so proud of him. He's been doing play dates with his friends from church lately and that has been really good for both him and mommy!!! He loves Jaxon so much that he tried to play catch with him, and threw a hard ball right at Jaxon's head! What are you gonna do???? Oh, and the other day we were in the car pulling onto the road, and Logan looks outside the window and says, "Oh my Josh!!!" We had no idea what he was OMG-ing about, but it was too funny. Then yesterday he went to the bathroom and didn't put his underwear back on, so we asked him where his undies were. He said "Umm, I lost dem." That kid is something else.
Brian is still loving his stressful but exciting job at Petsmart, and is currently working on budgeting 1.1 million dollars for Paid Search advertising for all of Petsmart. (Ya, I'm not really sure what Paid search is, but I think it has to do with Internet ads) Anywho, he is so lucky to have a great job!
So now that my kids are both asleep and today is Monday Laundry day, I better get busy! Oh yeah, I made this really yummy bean dip salsa yesterday, and it's super healthy and WAY good! It was pretty easy too.(I got the recipe from Emily). You should try it. It's called Texas Caviar. Here's the recipe:

1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
